Honeybees: Extended Care at Thomas Wall Nursery

Once your child has started Thomas Wall Nursery, they have the opportunity to join Honeybees.

For the children, being in Honeybees is just the same as being at nursery. They have similar learning through play opportunities, including the garden.

Provision

Some parents may be eligible for free 30 hours for 3-4 year old children. More information about this can be found on:

https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare

The service runs from:

11.30 am - 2.30 pm (if you have a morning place). You can pay £5 a day, £25 weekly, to stay until 3.30 pm.

9.30 am - 12.30 pm (if you have an afternoon place). You can pay £5 a day, £25 weekly, to start at 8.30 am.

Applications

We ask you to complete a registration form, which can be collected from and returned to the staff at Honeybees or downloaded below. On the completion of this form you will be asked to sign a contract.

Fees

If you are not eligible for free 30 hours childcare you will need to pay for the service. The service costs £20.00 for 4 hours and £15 for 3 hours. This is what the timings and costs will be:

08:30am-14:30pm  (30 hours)          £15.00 per day                     £75.00 per week

09:30am-15:30pm  (30 hours)          £15.00 per day                     £75.00 per week

08:30am-15:30pm  (35 hours)          £20.00 per day                     £100.00 per week

You will be invoiced for the service weekly or half termly, depending on your preference. You will be required to pay for this service in advance. Should your child be absent for any reason, including illness, we will still invoice you for the booked sessions.

Lunch

We ask parents to provide a healthy packed lunch for children in Honeybees. You do not need to provide a drink as fresh, cold water is provided for all children. We also have a supply of fresh fruit should your child require a snack. We ask you not to provide anything containing nuts as, although children are not allowed to share their lunches, there may be some children attending with severe allergies. All packaging and any leftovers will be returned to your child's lunch box so that you can see what they have eaten.

Care and Education

The children will have access to activities including:

Dance, music, resource modelling, sand and water play, play dough, cooking, exploring our environment (eg. Senses garden, nature trails) and sensory activities (eg. nice ice surprise!)

Both morning and afternoon sessions have access to stories and singing as well as a chance to develop their gross motor skills on the climbing equipment and through movement.

If you require further information please contact Mrs Dawson (Coordinator)
